Commercial copy experience preferred. Preferred knowledge of overall operational and technical processes and system interdependencies preferred. Proficient in log production.

Duties: The Commercial Copy Editor obtains the copy instructions from the Expeditor and interprets/enters that information into the Traffic system. This requires an understanding of the various criteria/constraints advertisers utilize, as well as the traffic system. The Copy Editor will pull, process, maintain, file, distribute reports, resolve discrepancies and disseminate information to ensure commercial units air within the agency's specifications. This requires great attention to detail to protect advertising revenue for the company. The Copy Editor reviews copy instructions and compares that to information regarding our physical commercial inventory to assure that we are able to apply the agency's instructions. When there are questions about interpretation of copy instructions, availability of the correct media, or other discrepancies, the Copy Editor may consult with Ad Sales, Ad Agencies, Sales Strategic Planning, Networks, Sports, Peachtree TV Sales Ops, S&P, Sales Invoicing, and NetOps to resolve issues. This is done through a time intensive process that entails a series of emails, phone conversations, and receipt of multiple faxed documents. Each step in this back and forth exchange is necessary to ensure commercial units air as specified by the Ad Agency's commercial copy traffic instructions and to eliminate any potential revenue loss. Professional communication and a high level of customer service are necessary for success. The Commercial Copy Editor will submit all commercial traffic instructions for units made available to air to a QA Analyst to review for accuracy. Ensuring this quality control step provides greater accuracy of the commercial copy instructions and the confirmation that the correct instructions have been applied in accordance to agency's specifications, and in compliance with internal departmental deadlines and applicable regulations. If necessary, the Editor will make revisions/corrections and obtain a final QC check prior to signing off on copy instructions and releasing the log for print. The Commercial Copy Editor will assure that all commercial media is annotated in accordance to metadata requirements, departmental standards and applicable federal regulations via use of a commercial media stewardship system. This involves a check of media deliverables for log production and dub/kill lists through collaboration with the Commercial Library and the media administration team.
