Job Description


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



The Development Associate will be
responsible for successful completion of tasks including but not
limited to:  tracking and identifying new sources of financial support
for existing and new domestic and international programs; creating and
maintaining strategic partnerships with external and internal
stakeholders for joint programs; writing and editing grant proposals
that create opportunities for new and expanded programs for the agency;
and editing reports, brochures and other publications as needed. The
position will be based in Arlington, Virginia.



REQUIREMENTS:



- Demonstrated experience in
development, grant writing, professional fundraising, and successful
relationships with foundations and other public and private funders.  

- Experience working with international and federal agencies, such as
Department of Health and Human Services, Department of State,
Department of Agriculture, UNHCR and private foundations.

- Working knowledge of the entire proposal process; must have demonstrated track record of writing successful grant proposals.

- Excellent writing and editing skills, and experience working on
reports, articles, brochures, press releases and other communications. 

- Strong computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.  Experience with grants.gov is preferred.  

- Self-starter with ability to work well in a team, can juggle multiple priorities, and meet regular deadlines.

- Strong attention to detail, must be highly flexible, and ability to keep multiple assignments moving forward. 

- Knowledge of refugee and immigrant issues preferred. 

- Bachelor’s degree in relevant major; master’s degree preferred.
