Qualifications: Five years full-time news writing. Strong knowledge of national and international news. Four-year college degree or equivalent in proven industry experience. Firm grasp of language, strong regard for accuracy, balance, sensitivity. Speed (work load). Flexibility (can deal with rapid changes in news, adapt to breaking news, handle several tasks at once). Attitude (eager, energetic, team-oriented).

Duties: Quickly research, prepare and write stories that are creative, conversational, well organized, balanced, accurate and conform to CNN reporting guidance and network standards. Monitor CNN broadcasts and wires for breaking news and developments in current stories, update as needed. Generate story ideas. Be familiar with the day's news, context and other developments that might affect writing assignments.
